Privacy policy
This policy explains how EZ Finance LLC ("EZ Finance," "we," "us") collects, uses and shares information when you apply for or have a premium finance agreement with us, use our website or payment pages, or receive our text messages and emails. We finance commercial (business-purpose) insurance premiums.
1. Information we collect
- Business and contact information: legal business name, entity type, federal employer identification number (FEIN), business and mailing address, and the name, title, email address and phone number of the people who sign or manage the account.
- Insurance information: the insurance companies, general agents, policy numbers, coverages, premiums, fees, taxes and effective dates of the policies we finance, and information about cancellations, refunds of unearned premium and reinstatements.
- Account information: your finance agreement, payment schedule, payments, balances, late or returned payments, notices sent to you and records of electronic signatures, including the date, time, IP address and device used to sign.
- Payment information: bank account or card details you provide to pay us, handled as described in section 5.
- Verification information: results of sanctions screening and, for some larger loans, business credit reports.
- Communications: records of emails, letters and text messages we send and receive, and calls with our staff.
- Website information: basic technical information such as browser type and pages visited, as described in section 9.
We receive this information from you, from your insurance agent or broker, from insurance companies and general agents, and from service providers that help us verify information or process payments.
2. How we use information
- To review your application, prepare your agreement and pay your insurance premium.
- To service your account: send payment reminders, receipts and notices, process payments and answer questions.
- To send notices required by your agreement or by law, including notices of intent to cancel, and to request cancellation of financed policies and collect unearned premium after a default.
- To prevent fraud, verify identities and licenses, and comply with law, including sanctions laws.
- To keep business records, prepare reports for our lenders and auditors, and improve our services.
3. How we share information
We do not sell your information. We share it only as needed to provide and service your financing:
- Your insurance agent or broker, who arranged the financing, including payment status and copies of notices.
- Insurance companies and general agents on your financed policies, to pay premiums, give notice of our interest in unearned premium, request cancellation after a default, and collect refunds.
- Mortgagees and loss payees named on your policies, when the law requires us to notify them.
- Service providers who work for us under confidentiality obligations, such as payment processors, banks, text and email delivery services, mailing services, e-signature providers, cloud hosting and accounting providers.
- Our lenders, investors and assignees, and a buyer of our business or of your agreement, who must protect the information as described here.
- Government authorities and others when required by law, court order or regulation, or to protect our rights, collect amounts owed, or prevent fraud.
4. Text messages and mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories of information described in this policy exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use your mobile number only to send the account-related text messages you agreed to receive, such as payment reminders, receipts and account notices. See our text message terms. Reply STOP to any message to stop texts.
5. Payment information
Card and bank account numbers you enter on our payment pages are collected by our payment processor through secure fields and stored by the processor as a token. We do not store full card numbers on our own systems. We keep only the type of payment method and the last four digits so you can recognize it. If you authorize automatic payments, we keep a record of your authorization.
6. How we protect information
We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including encryption of data in transit and of sensitive data at rest, multi-factor sign-in for staff and agents, role-based access, activity logs and vendor review. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if required by law after a security incident.
7. How long we keep information
We keep agreements, signatures, payment records, notices and proof of delivery for at least seven years after an account closes, or longer if required by law or for a legal claim. We then delete or de-identify it.
8. Your choices
- Text messages: optional. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out does not stop notices we must send by mail or email.
- Electronic notices: you may withdraw consent to receive notices by email by writing to us; we will then send notices by mail.
- Access and corrections: contact us to review or correct the information we hold about your account.
9. Website and cookies
Our website uses only cookies and similar technologies needed to run the site and payment pages securely, and basic analytics to understand site use. We do not use them for advertising. Our website is intended for business customers and is not directed to children.
10. Changes and contact
